Western Town at Paramount Ranch

Beginning in the1920s Paramount Ranch, with its Western Town sets, has been the site of a number of movies and since the 50s many TV shows. Visiting on a beautiful Southern California autumn morning was a visual treat.

Filming Venice Beach

Added a "new", gently used Canon AE-1 Program SLR film camera to the equipment roster. Trial run at Venice Beach (CA) today. These shots aren't too bad but the photog is going to need to work on his skills to make the best use possible of the camera.

"It's All Happening at the Zoo"

Took a trip to the Los Angeles Zoo today. Midday sun was not working to my benefit, but I got a few shots of some very cooperative beasties.

It's hard to go to Santa Barbara (CA) and stay focused on the camera enough to get even a few good shots. This batch is kind of all over the place with no theme except eclectic sights in this beautiful oceanfront city.

Rediscovering Film Shooting

I'm relearning that shooting film is very different from shooting digital. After a 20 year hiatus I'm trying to hone lost skills. Here are a few shots done with black and white film in random places around LA.

Took a quick trip to the Getty Center today. Didn't shoot any of the art, but did find some interesting odds and ends worth capturing.
